Where to Go on St. Patrick’s Day in Miami

Ah, The Luck of The Cubans

St. Patrick’s Day last year was, well, depressing. While most countries/states/cities had gone into lockdown from Covid on March 11, Miami was still alive and well because Florida is a lawless land. I remember on the weekend of March 13/14 last year, I stayed out on South Beach until 5 a.m. But by Tuesday, March 17, 2020, county officials ordered restaurants, bars, gyms, theaters, etc. to close by 11 p.m. After work on St. Patrick’s Day last year, I went to what would be my last in-person Pure Barre class for months and hoped that I didn’t catch the virus at one of the bars over the weekend. At least I went out with a bang.

This year, St. Patrick’s Day proves to be more promising. Not because Covid is gone by any standards, but because, as I said, Florida is a lawless land. If you do go out, stay safe, maintain social distancing (as much as you can) and wear a mask. Sláinte!
